Hallux Valgus

The hallux valgus surgery (bunion surgery) consists of several techniques that have as their objective the alignment of toe with its metatarsal.

The hallux valgus, in fact, is a deformation of the first toe that causes a mismatch between his bones and bulging seam. Generally it’s attributed to the use of tight shoes, arthritis or genetic predisposition.

The bunion can cause pain and discomfort. The surgeries are recommended only to patients for whom the use of less invasive methods did not bring benefits.

The techniques used in hallux valgus surgery involve the removal of soft tissue and bone and realigning the joint to relieve pain, eliminate swelling and to restore the normal alignment of the foot joints and movement.
